Prayer Answered:  World War II, May 1940; Rommel's panzer forces began a rapid advance across France and Belgium.  With the entire front collapsing, British troops were in danger of being encircled and annihilated.  King George VI gave a stirring broadcast asking the people of Britain to have a Day of Prayer to commit their cause to God.  Hitler then overruled his generals and halted the advance just 10 miles from the British troops.  Hitler thought the Luftwaffe squadrons would finish the troops off.  The next day a violent storm grounded the German planes.  As a result, British ships, fishing boats, pleasure boats were able to cross the Channel and rescue the British troops trapped at Dunkirk.
