formed logo semiboldFORMED has many courses which are designed to help us appreciate Jesus' teaching.  Dr. Ben Gray in "Our Father: a Short Course" presents six episodes lasting about thirty minutes each which help us when we pray the "Our Father."  Gray leads us line by line through the prayer that is considered a gift from the Lord and points out the New Testament scripture passages that show us how to pray.
thank you 1A great BIG thank you to all who participated in the Wednesday Soup and Sandwich event during Lent.  As we gathered in the lower hall after 5 o'clock Mass, we were greeted with the savory smell of soup.  A special thanks to our Knights of Columbus, Ladies of Sacred Heart, Men's Club and Parish Life who generously provided the delicious homemade soups and scrumptious sandwiches.  We even had sweets to enjoy, including Fr. Bill's delicious homemade ice cream at the March 17th event-giving a whole new meaning to St. Patrick's Day green!  The videos were very uplifting and if you missed any of them, the series in its entirety, can be found and watched through our parish subscription on www.FORMED.org.

formed logo semiboldIn the year of St. Joseph "Formed" has several interesting offerings.  Men of our parish are being invited by FORMED to take a 30-day journey in a book by Mark Hartfiel, "The School of Nazareth: A Spiritual Journey With St. Joseph."  Each day this book provides a short reading and in this 30-day journey, you will discover how to become a man after God's own heart!

Another offering that the parish might find interesting is a talk by Mark Miravalle called "St. Joseph: Patron of the Universal Church."  The holy and hidden figure of St. Joseph comes to light in this captivating presentation.  Listen to the speaker delve into the fascinating and hidden life of the man whom God chose to "substitute" for himself when "the word became flesh to dwell among us."  To see what other interesting things there are to offer go to www.FORMED.org.
Mothers DayOn Sunday, May 9, Mother's Day, the Knights of Columbus would like to invite everyone to a Parish Breakfast.  The menu includes Sausage and Eggs, biscuits, gravy, hash browns, juice and coffee.  Please use the sign-up sheets in the Narthex if you are going to attend.  Breakfast is only $7.00 a plate.  All breakfast proceeds are used to help fund the Knights' charitable activites throughout the year.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Divine MercyIn private revelation of St. Maria Faustina, Jesus asked that a Feast of the Divine Mercy be celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter.  He told her: "On that day, all the divine flood gates through which graces flow are opened.  The soul who will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment."  We are currently doing the nine day Divine Mercy Novena which willl culminate with Divine Mercy Sunday, next Sunday, April 11th with our special Holy Hour from 3:00-4:00 p.m.  The Novena started on Good Friday, but those who didn't start then, can still participate in the rest of the Novena (at home and/or at church after daily Mass) or begin the nine days on your own and finish it in the days following Divine Mercy Sunday.  Use the red pamphlet that was an insert in the bulletin on Passion/Palm Sunday.  I will offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation from 2:30 to 3:00 and 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. before and after our Divine Mercy Holy Hour.  If you went to Reconciliation at our Communal Reconciliation (March 25th), that suffices for the Confession part of receiving the indulgence.
Thomas Sinclair jrThomas Sinclair, Jr., son of Thomas and Peggy Sinclair will be playing preludes before the 10:00 a.m. Mass this Sunday, May 2, 2021.  Thomas is enrolled with the Jessieville School District and with our Religious Education program at Sacred Heart.  Thank you Thomas for blessing us with your beautiful piano playing.

Project RachelHope and Healing, a 12-week online Bible study just for women who have been wounded by abortion, will begin in April.  This new opportunity offered through Project Rachel Ministry will explore the impact of past abortion decisions on our lives and discover what we need to do to heal from these traumatic experiences.

On this journey of self-discovery and empowerment we will meet 12 amazing women who, just like us, are wives, mothers, daughters, sisters and friends.  We will learn together how these women faced the same struggles and challenges that we face and through their example gain insight into what we can do to make changes in our own lives so that we can move forward from lingering grief, shame, guilt, fear and pain to acceptance, forgiveness, trust, peace, love and joy.  Any woman, anywhere, can participate from the comfort of her own space, either anonymously or with a virtual group of soon-to-be friends.  Call or text our CONFIDENTIAL direct phone line 501-663-0996 for more information.  Registration is required by March 29.
formed logo semiboldOn Thursday, March 25 starting at 6:00 p.m. our parish will have an additional opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  We can start to prepare for this evening by accessing some of the entries of www.FORMED.org,  dealing with forgiveness of our sins.  "FORGIVEN: The Transforming Power of Confessions" is a study that explores the grace and healing offered in confession and shows how this sacrament of mercy reveals the depth and mercy of God's love.  There are nine, approximatedly 30 minute episodes that you an watch and listen to at your convenience.  In "The Sacrament of Penance" Father William Casey speaks on reconciliation in an audio lasting about an hour.  "Confession" is a popular talk, lasting less than an hour, given by Fr. Larry Richards, that provides listerers with hope to strive for a closer, healing relationship ith Jesus Christ.
