Our Sacred Heart Angel Tree will be in the Narthex beginning the weekend of November 18. Each child will have 4 Angels on the tree, so no need to purchase multiple items. Simply buy the suggested item, i.e. pants, shirt, etc. No food or toys please. Return the wrapped to the tree with the angel taped to the front. Another lable will be placed on the original to hide the contents of the package. Deadline for returning gifts is Sunday, December 3.

"Rooted: Rediscover the Jesse Tree this Advent" is a new Advent series hosted by Dr Scott Hefelfinger. The 22 episodes begin on December 3 and end on December 24. Enrich your Advent by signing up for the seven minute episodes. You will be guided through a daily Advent reflection using the Jesse Tree model. Each episode introduces the ancestors of Jesus, shares a scripture passage and offers practical reflection. Go to www.FORMED.org to register.
If you enjoy singing and have considered participating in out Thanksgiving and Christmas choirs now is your chance! You are invited to join the choir for Sunday 10:00 a.m. Mass for holiday music. The Village Big Band will present "Christmas and All That Jazz" Thursday, November 30 at Christ of the Hills Methodist Church at ;7:00 p.m. This is a free concert with an offering taken to benefit the charities supported by the church's Men' Group. Christ of the Hills Minister of Music, Kenny McKay, and our own Maureen Morgan will offer several seasonal selections during the show. All are welcome as we kick off the holday season with some Big Band Jazz.
Next weekend, November 18/19, is the collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Through this appeal, you can help people living in poverty and struggling on the margins of society by giving them a hand. One fourth (25%) of the funds received remain with Catholic Charities of Arkansas to assist the poor and vulnerable. Thank you for your generosity in response to this special collection.
The November meeting for the Sacred Heart Men's Club will be on Tuesday, November 14 at 5:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall. All male parishioners or male spouses of parishioners are welcome to attend. Dues remain $15 and new name badges are available for $10. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall followed by social time. The refreshment center will open upon the chaplet's completion. The 6:00 p.m. dinner, catered by Great Wall of China, will provide a wide variety of options. The meal cost is $15. The program for the night wil be guest speaker Todd Noles, HSV Lakes and Common Property Manager, on current issues and projects affecting our community. We are happy to again offer a parish Thanksgiving Day meal on Thursday, November 23 in our Lower Hall at 12:00 p.m. This meal is for parishioners and family members who are visiting who wish to enjoy a delicious, traditional Thanksgiving meal (prepared on-site by Chef Johnna) and fellowship with others. The menu includes turkey & dressing, gooey sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cranbery suace, rolls and a variety of desserts (donated by those who choose to bring one). Cost is $15 per person and should be paid at sigh-up. Please commit by signing the sheet in the Narthex or call the church office at 501-922-2062 x 10 and send your check to 295 Balearic Rd. Deadline to sign-up is Monday, November 20.
With the holidays approaching, many parishioners are expecting to see grandchildren and other visititng munchkins. It is a good time to search under "Family" and "Kids" at the top of the Formed page and select some entries that would be appropriate for your young visitors. Many thanks to Gary Wolfer and Rick Martinek for power washing our kitchen tables and kitchen floor mats, as well as, cleaning the spider webs under the porte-cochere. Rick also power washed the A & E walk next to the church. Your efforts in support of this parish are much appreciated!
As you begin to plan your 2024, please reserve Monday, March 11 through Thursday, March 14 for our annual Parish Men's Retreat at the St John's Center in Little Rock. Baby Bottles can be returned to the Church at any time and placed in the crib in the Narthex on or before Sunday, November 12. If you would like a bottle and did not pick one up already, there are additional empty bottles on the cabinet in the Narthex hallway. The goal this year is to continue to provide funds to three area pregnancy resource centers. The Arkansas Right to Life Organization in Little Rock, New Beginnings Pregnancy Resource Center in Benton and Change Point Pregnancy Center in Hot Springs all do amazing work caring for new mothers and their babies and counselling young women who need guidance during and after their pregnancy. What a great feeling it is when you kow that you have helped save and nurture a life! Please open your hear and be generous for these beautiful unborn children of God. The next Arkansas Blood Institute Blood Drive supported by the Knights of Columbus and hosted by the Village United Methodist Church, 200 Carmona Rd, is 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7. Fr Victor A Bieberle, Fourth Degree Assembly, 2316, invites all Veterans, Brother Knights, and parishioners to recognize Veterans Day by celebrating a Mass on Saturday, November 11th, 9:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

The Flags will be posted at 8:00 a.m., Patriotic Rosary at 8:15 a.m., Mass at 9:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the Lower Hall, serving coffee, pastries, fruit and great conversation!
