Our annual Seminarian Support Dinner, sponsored by our Knights of Columbus Council 10208, will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017. Tickets will be on sale the weekends of July 1/2 and July 8/9, before and after all Masses. Dinner will be catered by Chef Johnna. Tickets are $20 each with your choice of (1) Tilapia, (2) Roast Chicken or (3) Prime Rib. All meals feature salads, delicious sides and Father Bill's famous ice cream!Ten seminarians, Bishop Taylor, Monsignor Friend and other guests from the diocese will be attending. Entertainment provided by "Treble in the Village."
Please mark your calendars to attend this special event honoring our seminarians. Space will be limited. All money donated will go directly to the Seminarian Fund. This fund is the foundation for the education of our future priests who will be dedicated to upholding the principles and doctrines of our Catholic faith. We would like to have you join us, mingle with the seminarians and special guests, and be a part of this special evening. We have always had a lot of fun at this event with the seminarians in years past and this year promises to be equally enjoyable.
Ladies of the Sacred Heart are still asking for pull tabs from soda or beer cans, soup, vegetable or fruit cans, and pet food cans for the Ronald McDonald House Charity. There is a box in the A & E hallway cabinet where the tabs can be placed. Thank you for your support! 
The Fourth of Degree Knights of Columbus will sponsor a Lower Hall reception on Monday, May 29, after the 9:00 a.m. Mass to celebrate Memorial Day. All parishioners are invited to attend. Coffee, tea, juice and some finger food will be provided along with some entertainment. 
In response to several parishioner requests, the Knights of Columbus will provide car magnets again this year. These crosses will be placed in the narthex with a charitable donation box. Please help yourself, and be generous to cover the cost and help those-in-need. 
The Knights of Columbus will host a Mother's Day Reception on Sunday, May 14 after the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m Masses in the Lower Hall. Pastry, fruit, juice and coffee will be served. Please attend after one of the Masses this Sunday. 
In honor of Mary, our spiritual mother, and in honor of all mothers, we will meet for a day to pray and reflect on the nurturing qualities in our lives. That day is Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Scholastica Retreat Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This day of recollection will be presented by Macrina Widerkehr, OSB who is well-known for her creative writing and retreat ministry. The weekend was led by speakers Joyce Rupp, an award-winning author and a much sought after retreat speaker and Sister Macrina Wiederkehr, who is a Benedictine Sister at Saint Scholastica, a well-known author and retreat director.

Our library has many books for your Lenten reading. Check the featured book shelf on the free-standing book case for the books on Lent. In addition to those, browse the sections on biographies of the saints (B05), Jesus (B18), meditation (B25), prayer (BG30) and spirituality (B3). Please check out these items or any other items before removing from the library. 
A Walt Disney True-Life Documentary titled, "Morning Light," will be shown on Wednesday, May 24, at 6:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall. The Parish Life Commission will be sponsoring this monthly parish event offering the typical movie snacks - along with a few not-so-typical movie snacks.Experience a riveting and inspiring true-life adventure aboard the high-tech sloop, Morning Light. Fifteen rookie sailors have one goal in mind - to be part of her crew, racing in the most revered sailing competition on Earth, the Transpac Yacht Race. Only 11 will survive to be part of the grueling 2,225 mile race. They race, matching wits and skill against experienced professionals and the unforgiving Pacific Ocean.
A final Spaghetti Dinner for the Spring of 2017 will be offered by the Knights of Columbus on Saturday, May 6, immediately after the 5:00 p.m. Mass (served at 6:15). The menu includes salad, pasta with bolognaise meat sauce, a dessert, condiments, coffee and a donation refreshment center with wine, soda, beer, and other beverages for your pleasure. Tickets will be sold before and after the Masses on the weekend of April 29/30. Tickets cost $8 each. Only 200 tickets are available, so please get yours ASAP! All revenues over cost go to faith-based charities, and your support this past year has been tremendous! God bless all, and we hope to see you there. 
Please pray for the following three children of our parish who will receive their First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 7, at the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Adrian and Natalia Pineda (children of Christian and Ileana Pineda) and Samantha Stoffel (daughter of Josephine Stoffel). 
The Ladies of the Sacred Heart will have their annual "Living Rosary" after the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Monday, May 8, in the church. All parishioners are invited to attend. 
The Knights of Columbus will continue to recite the Rosary on the fifth Sunday of the month before all Masses on April 29/30. All parishioners are invited to come to Mass 25 minutes early and join us as we use the power of prayer to request Mary's intervention with our intentions. 
The Knights of Columbus will have the Holy Family Icon at our parish from April 23 through April 27. The Icon is moving throughout the state during April, and we are fortunate to have it within our parish for nine days. A special Mass will be offered at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, in the Main Church. Following Mass the Holy Family Icon will be in the Chapel for those wishing to petition the Holy Family in prayer. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. 
Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin will speak at the Village DeSoto Club on Thursday, April 27, at 2:00 p.m. about the significant contribution Arkansas Right to Life has made in the protection of the vulnerable unborn, disabled, ill and elderly. There is no charge to attend, but a collection will be taken as it is a fundraising event. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served; seating is limited.
