Your Baby at One Month
As the fertilized egg grows, a water-tight sac forms around it, gradually filling with fluid. This is called the amniotic sac, and it helps cushion the growing embryo. The placenta also develops. The placenta is a round, flat organ that transfers nutrients from the mother to the baby, and transfers wastes from the baby. A primitive face will take form with large dark circles for eyes. The mouth, lower jaw, and throat are also developing. Blood cells are taking shape, and circulation will begin. The tiny "heart" tube will beat 65 times a minute by the end of the fourth week. By the end of the first month, your baby is about 1/4 inch long - smaller than a grain of rice! Please continue to pray for your spiritually-adopted baby and her mother.

Recently the Sacred Heart Rosary Makers achieved a milestone in sending out 80,000 rosaries. We send out rosaries free-of-charge to countries all over the world to those who request them. Some of those coutries are: Zimbabwe, Cameroon, India, Tanzania, Philippines, Mexico and Brazil - as well as to other charities in the United States.
Rosary Makers meet once a week year-round in the classroom area after Mass on Thursdays. We welcome anyone who would like to try making rosaries. It's easy and fun, but it does take practice. We donate all the supplies that are used in making the rosaries, and the church provides the shipping expenses. This is a wonderful ministry. Please consider joining us. Call Marge Newburn at 922-9047 with any questions.
