This Devotion is part of the Knights of Columbus Silver Rose Program; the Silver Rose is carried by Knights from city to city, district to district, and council to council from Canada to the Cathedral in Mexico City - to arrive there on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The rose symbolized one of the roses that fell from Juan Diego's cloak when he delivered the Virgin's message to his bishop on December 12, 1531.
The Silver Rose will arrive from Benton in the late morning of Friday, the 30th; from here it will be delivered to Hot Springs in mid-afternoon the same day after our devotions.

The logistics of this year's sale have changed and donations from parishioners are being collected at the church on a much more condensed timeline -- principally during the actual week of the sale. Collection dates are Monday through Wednesday from 9 AM until 3 PM September 19th - 21st, and on Thursday from 9 AM until Noon September 22nd. For those who wish to donate larger items or have difficulty transporting items to the Church's lower hall, arrangements for pick up can be made by calling Mike Frantz.
Sacred Heart's 900+ parishioners have always responded generously both in terms of donated items and time spent volunteering to make the Treasure Sale a resounding success. This year should be no different resulting in another super-sized sale of lovely treasures for the home, holiday times, gardening and recreation, of items ranging from utility to frivolous, large and imposing to pretty and petite, and everything in between. Sacred Heart's Treasure sale evolves into an opportunity for parishioners and purchasers alike to meet and greet and have a great time.

The menu will include a tossed salad, spaghetti and meatballs with marinara sauce, and Italian toasted bread. The donation refreshment center will be opened with available wine, beer, soda, mixed drinks and bottled water. The dinner itself will cost only $6 per plate, in keeping with the Sunday prices established for our breakfast menu. Please join us for our trial run on Saturday, September 17, at 6:00 p.m. We plan to accomodate 200 diners in the Lower Hall. The meal will be served "family style" to expedite service and to provide a relaxed dining experience. A "bake sale" sponsored by one of our guilds of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart, will be set-up in the Lower Hall in conjunction with this dinner.
Knights wanting to volunteer and assist with these five dinner events (cooking or serving or clean-up - or all of the above) are encourage to contact Tom Donnelly at 915-0880.

Breakfast is only $6 a plate, and, as always, kids 12 years and under eat free. All breakfast proceeds are used to help fund Knights charitable activities throughout the year. Your support is appreciated.
